During the State campaign, I made an election commitment regarding the provision of sewerage services to homes in Galston.
I am proud to announce that the NSW Government will be fast-tracking the project, ensuring the provision of sewage services which have been long overdue. Whenever I am in Galston, locals are constantly raising this as their number one issue. I recently met Kylie Dawson, who has been particularly vocal in her frustration with the current system.   Since the announcement Kylie has told me that getting sewage services to her home is going to make a real difference to the life of her family.
Proper sewage for Galston means getting rid of the environmental dangers that do-it-yourself systems can lead to. Old septic tanks mean damp backyards and public health risks – I don't want anyone in our community subjected to this.
You will receive further information from Sydney Water in the coming weeks. This will allow the community to have input into the planning process.  After 16 years of Labor it is great to finally see that the NSW Government is committed to providing better services for the North-West.
