HILLS KITCHEN ROCKS 24/08/2010

RE-THINK YOUR WASTE - HILLS KITCHEN ROCKS

The Hills Shire Council will be cooking up a storm with a fun and fabulous series of live cooking demonstrations across the Sydney Hills starting on August 24.

Hills Kitchen Rocks is an exciting new way to rethink your “waist” and your “waste” over twelve workshops that will be held monthly at different venues around the Sydney Hills.

Presented by the effervescent Vanessa Williams-Henke who will take Hills residents on a gastronomical journey to dramatically impact the way you view food and waste.

The first work shop will take place at  Rouse Hill Town Centre on Tuesday 24 August at 11.30

“Through Hills Kitchen Rocks we will engage you, entertain you and educate you on ways you can feed your family a healthy meal and keep the costs low and the waste low,” Vanessa said.

“As well as fantastic menu ideas and fab new ideas to use your leftovers so they won’t go to waste while reducing your waist line we will have live cooking demonstrations with myself and an exciting array of local guests, plus an opportunity to try the recipes yourself.”

Galston CWA News 1/03/2010

2009 was a busy year for us and 2010 promises to be the same.

Although we only meet once a month, the morning of that day is usually full of activity before a very nice lunch and then the regular meeting when we plan even more activity for next meeting day.....   it's not really quite as frenetic as it sounds, but we are a 'service' organisation and our brief is to provide financial and (where appropriate) physical support when needed. Proceeds from any money making ventures such as stalls and Fashion Parades will go to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Medical research, Air Ambulance, Fred Hollowes Foundation or any of a dozen or more organisations.

So we really appreciate public support and will look forward to seeing you at our Mothers Day Stall on Friday 7th May and on Wednesday 19th of May at The Autumn Parade at Galston RSL Club.   More details about those next month. Meanwhile, we meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 10am at Galston Community Health Centre, Arcadia Rd., Galston. If you'd like to come and say Hello, you will be most welcome.
